Some serious privacy issues are at stake in the Govt. Vs. TxtMob. Creator of TxtMob, the service that allows people to exchange texts in a group, is being subpoenaed to turn over records surrounding the 2004 RNC convention. Apparently the state of NYC is pulling out all the stops to show that it is not at fault for unceremoniously arresting hundreds of people and jailing them without trial, cause, or charge for over 24 hours in sub-standard facilities. It may go so far as to contravene additional civil rights by seizing these records.
