What's missing from Marc's piece is a call to action. As a well known luminary, Andreeson has the opportunity to rally supporters around a cause in which he clearly believes.
In the piece, Andreeson describes how Obama is the Web2.0 candidate - he doesn't use the term, but the parallels between characteristics of software - a topic about which Andreeson opines often - and this candidate are remarkably similar: authentic, straightforward, smart, spin-free, "normal." I just heard a lecture from Henry Jenkins here at SXSW in which he made similar statements... the only candidate to use the "We" manner of speech versus the "I" that every other campaign is using. If we're going to do anything about climate destruction, mid-east unrest, and our dismal standing worldwide, it's going to have to be a "we" effort.
